Disposable Income

Can I afford that?

Young people in Norway have a lot of options when it comes to where they spend their money. The BBC reports that millennials in Norway have the highest disposable income for their age group, coming in at roughly 460,000 kroner which is about $56,200 USD. Considering the overall population of each top earning country across all age groups, the United States, Luxemburg, and Switzerland top Norway in disposable income.

Despite this, young Norwegians have still pulled ahead of their elders, experiencing higher levels of disposable income than previous generations. Millennial spending habits have earned a reputation for disrupting markets once thought of as stable and untouchable, such as the home ownership market. Millennial Norwegians-- now more than ever-- have more means to stir the spending pot.
