Two Thirds of U.S. Millenials Do Not Know Auschwitz

In not too long, the last survivors of the Holocaust will be dead and without them the collective memory of the events which led to the death of some 6 million Jews will be gradually fading. But as a survey by the Claims Conference shows, the younger generation already has severe problems remembering key places of the Shoah. While at least 41 percent of all American adults know what Auschwitz was, only one third of all Millennials is able to identify the infamous extermination camp when asked.
