Kolkata Knight Riders are Biggest IPL Spender in 2020

In the 2020 season of The Indian Premier League the Mumbai Indians emerged victorious once again. While there are many aspects that can influence a team’s performance up until the finals, how much money is spent on players is a factor considered crucial for success.

But this is not always true: As far as spending on new players goes, the Kolkata Knight Riders spent most in the 2020 auction, followed by Kings XI Punjab, last year's biggest spenders. The teams spent $3.7 million and $3.5 million on new players at the end of 2019, according to website CricTracker. The Mumbai Indians spent "only" $1.5 million and still emerged as the most successful team.
