Consumers want to travel more sustainably

Booking.com’s 2021 sustainability report surveyed almost 30,000 travelers across 30 countries on their attitudes to sustainable travel. The results showed that there is a significant interest in sustainable practices among travelers, with their major priorities being the reduction of general waste (84 percent) and energy consumption (83 percent). The report has been produced annually since 2016 and has tracked a rising trend of interest in sustainable travel and accommodation, not only in terms of protecting the environment, but also in choosing forms of travel and accommodation that impact positively on local communities and minimize CO2 emissions.
