Familiarity with sustainable tourism among Italians 2011-2021

Between 2011 and 2021, the share of Italians being familiar with the idea of sustainable tourism rose significantly. While roughly six in ten respondents were familiar with this concept in 2011, 85 percent of interviewees claimed to have heard about sustainable tourism in 2021. Sustainable tourism is a form of tourism focusing on environmental sustainability and support to local cultures and traditions.
