Where Tax Advisory Services Are Most Commonly Used?
Data from the most recent Consumer Insights survey from Statista shows that the use of tax advisory services can vary considerably from one country to another. Across the 21 countries included in the survey, Australia and Germany are among those that recorded the highest percentage of users, with 19 percent and 17 percent of respondents, respectively, saying that they had used a tax consultation service in the past 12 months. At the opposite end of the scale, Japan has the lowest proportion of annual users (2 percent), which is far below the 21-country average of 12 percent. The differences in the need for tax advice between countries can be explained by the complexity of the respective tax systems, the administrative and political environments, tax rates and the level of taxpayer confidence in the given administrations.
