A Workforce Ready To Learn: Online Training In Hospitality
Across Europe's largest hospitality markets, employees are overwhelmingly ready to embrace online training. According to an employee survey conducted for the issue brief Upskilling European Hospitality, at least eight in ten hotel employees in Germany, France, Spain, and Italy say they are likely or very likely to make use of online training programs. Germany leads the way at 95%, followed by France at 90%, Spain at 85%, and Italy at 84%.
This level of enthusiasm is especially striking in markets where employer readiness for online training falls below the EU average. In Germany, for instance, employer support is comparatively low, yet nearly all employees want to participate. This reinforces that the appetite for professional development is already there. The challenge is not motivating employees, but providing them with accessible, high-quality training options that match their ambition, even in markets where employer uptake is slower.
