How many children across Ireland are in emergency care?

500 children across Ireland were placed in emergency out-of-hours care last year. These figures relate to children who are at risk and removed from the care of their parents or guardians in emergency situations. Last year, Cork had the highest number of children placed into emergency care of any region in Ireland. The following infographic was featured on thejournal.ie and shows how the situation developed in the first quarter of 2016.
