U.S. Elections 2016

The world view of the Trump/Clinton Voter

Donald Trump's victory in this week's U.S. elections came as a surprise to many. Especially for a lot of Europeans, Trump's position on some political and economic issues seemed radical and therefore his victory unlikely. Our graphic, for which we have used data from the CNN exit polls as of Nov 9 (3.06 am ET) points out the attitudes of voters on topics where Trump and Clinton strongly disagree. Although we look at subsets of respondents from the exit polls only, the chart illustrates a lot of sensitivities that are widespread among many people in the U.S.

Description

The graphic shows how Trump and Clinton voters strongly disagree on key issues discussed during the U.S. election campaigns 2016.
