Russia Investigation
Mueller’s approval ratings for his handling of the Russian probe are 20 percentage points higher than President Trump’s, according to a new poll by CNN.
Over the course of the summer, Mueller’s approval ratings jumped up by more than 10 points while Trump’s hovered around 30 percent. Mueller’s approval stands at its high watermark since CNN began polling on the topic.
Between mid-August and mid-September Paul Manafort, Trump's former campaign chairman, was convicted on counts of tax and bank fraud, a result of investigative work by Mueller’s team. Trump’s former lawyer Michael Cohn plead guilty to illegal campaign payments, which Mueller’s team investigated and then referred to the US Attorney’s Office for the Southern District of New York.
