Sweden: asylum decisions by citizenship 2022

In 2022, people from Afghanistan had the highest proportion of asylum decisions in Sweden with 1,850 applications decided upon, of which 887 were granted. The second highest number of applications decided upon came from Syrians. This was also the group that received the highest number of positive decisions. Within recent years, the year with the most positive asylum decisions in Sweden was 2016.
