In 2019, Brazil was the Latin American country with the highest number of new hepatitis B cases per 100,000 people, with around 913 cases registered that year. Paraguay ranked second, with about 905 new hepatitis cases per 100,000 individuals. Meanwhile, Mexico recorded nearly 77 hepatitis B cases per 100,000 people that year, the lowest incidence rate of hepatitis B cases in the region.
