In 2022, the total supply of allocated allowances for all stationary installations was 916.2 million metric tons of carbon dioxide equivalent (MtCO₂e) – a decrease of roughly 103 MtCO₂e compared to 2021. The supply of EU freely allocated allowances was 543 MtCO₂e in 2022. Stationary installations include installations such as power plants, refineries, and industrial factories.
