Ireland urban and rural population 2022

In 2022, the urban population of the Republic of Ireland was approximately 3.26 million, while the rural population was around 1.82 million. Although the urban population of Ireland is currently bigger than the rural population, this was not the case in 1960 when there were approximately 272,450 more people living in rural areas than urban ones.
