Share of U.S. adults certain of COVID-19 misinformation as of 2023
A poll in 2023 found that only a small percentage of adults in the United States believed false claims about COVID-19 were definitely true. Despite this, a large majority of adults were uncertain about the claims and thought they were "probably true" or "probably false". Shockingly, less than half of respondents were certain that the misinformation "More people have died from the COVID-19 vaccines than have died from the COVID-19 virus" was false.
This statistic depicts the share of adults who were certain or uncertain of select false claims about COVID-19 in the United States as of 2023.
