In 2023, nearly 60 percent of the elderly population who received inpatient care in Indonesia used BPJS PBI as their health insurance. BPJS PBI is a national health insurance provided by the Indonesian government for low-income households. In contrast, about 2.09 percent of the hospitalized elderly used private insurance.
