Rugby League World Cup: team with most titles 2022

Since the competition's inaugural year in 1954, Australia had 12 Rugby League World Cup title wins as of 2024. This meant that the Kangaroos had won three-quarters of all World Cup titles ever contested and four times more than old rivals Great Britain, whose last title win came in 1972. The last of Australia's World Cup titles came in the Rugby League World Cup 2021, which was played one year behind schedule, having beaten Samoa 30-10.

* Australia won the 1975 and 1977 competitions without having to play in a final, with the winner being decided by a table. This was a result of a short-lived change in the competition's format, which also saw it renamed as the International Championship.
