Audience spending at entertainment events in Italy 2019-2022, by segment
The audience expenditure at entertainment events in Italy rose sharply in 2022 compared to the first two years of the coronavirus (COVID-19) pandemic, but remained below pre-pandemic levels. While spending in the film industry amounted to 792 million euros in 2019, it declined to under 186 million euros in 2021, then bounced back to 333 million euros in 2022. That year, the audience expenditure on concerts reached nearly 725 million euros, surpassing the figure from 2019.
