Instances of abuse experienced by NHS England staff in 2023, by trust
According to a survey conducted in 2023, harassment towards NHS staff is not uncommon among different Trusts in England. In 2023, around 25 percent of surveyed NHS staff had experienced some kind of harassment, bullying, or abuse at work from a patient/service user, a connection to that service user, or other members of the public. Instances of abuse were especially high in ambulance trusts. In 2023, nearly half of surveyed NHS staff within Ambulance Trusts stated to have experienced harassment, bullying, or abuse at work.
