The Common Agricultural Policy, launched in 1962, is a partnership between agriculture and society and between Europe and its farmers. Its main goals are to support farmers, to ensure that they can make a reasonable living, to improve agricultural productivity, to help reducing climate change and to increase the sustainable management of natural resources and to preserve and maintain natural rural areas in the EU.
