Global mobile ad spend stood at approximately 234 billion U.S. dollars in 2019. By 2024, this figure is projected to reach 495 billion U.S. dollars. Advertising can be presented on both mobile websites and mobile apps. Mobile in app advertising is a heavily invested format within the industry, and was estimated to amount nearly 117 million U.S. dollars in 2020.
The United States are the largest mobile advertising in the world. Americans companies invest heavily in mobile advertising. In 2020, about 120 billion U.S. dollars are forecast to be spent on mobile advertising in the U.S., nearly 50 million more than the second largest market - China. As the expenditure on this type of ad rises, its importance also increases within the industry. Mobile accounted for an estimated 23.5 percent of all advertising spending in the U.S. in 2016. Projections show that this share will reach 40 percent in 2021.
