Biggest European and German Defense Contractors

Talking of German main battle tanks – the German company producing the Leopard 2 is among the leading arms producers in Europe. According to the Stockholm International Peace Research Institute (SIPRI), Krauss-Maffai Wegman (KMW) sold weapons worth more than 950 million dollars in 2016. This sum is, however, dwarfed by Europe's biggest transnational arms firm and aviation conglomerate Airbus.
