Half Of Americans Take Pictures Of Their Food

Today, the phenomenon has become unavoidable. As you sit in that cool new burger place digesting your meal, a crowd of hipsters at the table opposite you get served an absolutely delicious looking hamburger feast. Rather than digging in immediately, they all whip out their smartphones and take photographs of their plates before finally tucking in. According to a YouGov poll, half of Americans take pictures of their food.

Why? If you wander over to that table and ask, they will probably tell you that food is all about creation, an art form with a visually beautiful end result. It's also important to mention that cooking can prove diffcult and take time, which is why people are especially keen to photograph their own epic creations at home. YouGov found that 31 percent of people take pictures of food that they have cooked themselves while 22 percent do it at a special occasion such as a party or wedding.
