Information Security Spending to Reach a Record $114 Billion in 2018

These days, as cyber attacks and online scams are rampant and there’s more need than ever to protect private or confidential information online, private and public organizations as well as individuals spend billions on keeping information safe. According to Gartner’s latest estimates, worldwide spending on information security products and services will amount to $114 billion this year, up from $102 billion in 2017.

As the following chart shows, the biggest chunk of that huge total is expected to be spent on security services, followed by infrastructure protection and network security equipment.
