Engineering is America’s Highest-Earning Major

The average starting salary for a Bachelor’s degree graduate in the United States in 2013 was $45,600, representing a 2.6 percent increase on 2012. Engineering is at the very top of the scale, commanding a starting salary of $62,600.

Computer science came second with an average starting salary of $59,100 while Business rounded off the top three with $55,100. Even though humanities and social science majors have some of the lowest starting salaries on offer to graduates, they are rising quickly, up 2.9% since 2012.
