Liverpool Edged Manchester City In Season Earnings

Even though Liverpool marginally lost out to Manchester City in the race to win the Premier League title, they actually earned more money than their rivals in the 2018/19 season. The Premier League has released its list of payments of broadcast and central commercial revenues to clubs with Manchester City getting £150,986,355. Even though Liverpool finished second, they were paid more - £152,425,146.

That disparity is due to Jürgen Klopp's team appearing in 29 live games on TV in the UK compared to 26 for the champions. Chelsea were paid the third highest amount with £146,030,216 while Manchester United only came sixth in the earnings league with £142,512,868. Total payments across all teams came to some £2.5 billion.
