Royal Family

Which royal gets treated the worst by the press?

"Not many people have asked if I'm ok". That was the response Meghan Markle gave ITV's Tom Bradby when he asked her about her struggles with the British press since she married Prince Harry. Her emotional comments came after Harry released an unprecedented statement in October last year: "Unfortunately, my wife has become one of the latest victims of a British tabloid press that wages campaigns against individuals with no thought to the consequences — a ruthless campaign that has escalated over the past year, throughout her pregnancy and while raising our newborn son".

With that in mind, it shouldn't come as too much of a surprise that the pair have decided to take a step back from royal life - a move announced yesterday - stating that they will begin the process of becoming financially independent.

The UK public certainly agrees that Meghan Markle is the member of the royal family who receives the worst treatment from the press, too. According to a YouGov survey conducted in late August, 39 percent of those polled stated that the Duchess of Sussex is treated least favourably, followed by Camilla, Duchess of Cornwall with 8 percent and Prince Philip, Duke of Edinburgh with 5 percent.
