Obama, Trump Tie As Most Admired Man in 2019

President Donald Trump and former President Barack Obama tied as Americans' most admired man, according to Gallup's annual Most Admired poll. The results of the poll, conducted December 2 to 15, were polarized. 41 percent of Democrats chose Obama, while 45 percent of Republicans chose Trump. Obama edged out among Independents: 12 percent favored the former leader, while 10 percent chose the current commander-in-chief.

While it’s the first time Trump achieved the honor, it’s the 12th consecutive first place showing for Obama. Trump’s popularity has grown since his presidency began. The leader came in second place to Obama in 2018 and 2017, with 13 percent and 14 percent of the vote, respectively.

Also included on the 2019 list were Elon Musk, Bill Gates and Pope Francis.
