The Rapid Decline of Nintendo's Hardware Business

Nintendo reported the results for its full fiscal year last week and things are looking increasingly bleak for the Japanese maker of video game classics such as Super Mario and Donkey Kong. In the 12 months ending March 31, Nintendo sold less than 3 million units of the Wii U, down from an already disappointing 3.5 million in the previous fiscal year. For the current year, Nintendo is expecting to sell 3.6 million units, indicating that the company doesn't have high hopes to turn things around despite some blockbuster software releases such as Mario Kart coming up.
