What Russians Think About Navalny's Poisoning

Russian opposition politician Alexei Navalny is still recovering after he cheated death on a flight from Tomsk to Moscow. He was transferred to Berlin in a serious and stable condition where doctors announced that he had been poisoned with a Novichok, the same nerve agent used in the 2018 Salisbury attacks. The Kremlin has denied any involvment in both incidents.

So what does the Russian public make of the poisoning and who do they hold responsible? According to recent Levada Center polling covered by Radio Free Europe/Radio Liberty, 1 in 3 Russians believe Navalny was indeed poisoned. Among those who think he was poisoned, 30 percent hold the authorities responsible while 47 percent either do not know or did not provide an answer.
