100 Days in Office: Biden Blows Past Vaccine Goals

As President Biden is approaching his 100th day in office, countless articles will recount his first three months in the White House, tallying up his achievements and his shortcomings. One of his most important goals when taking office was to ensure a smooth rollout of the COVID-19 vaccines, and meeting that goal has to be listed among the biggest achievements of his administration.

Having set out to administer 100 million vaccine doses during his first 100 days in office, Biden announced the passing of that milestone just 58 days into his presidency. After moving the goalpost to 200 million doses on March 25, the U.S. flew by that milestone as well on April 22.

As of April 27, 232 million doses have been administered in the United States, resulting in 142 million people receiving at least one dose (42.7 percent of the total population) and 97 million people being fully vaccinated (29.1 percent of the population).
