Is the Crypto Hype Dying Down?

Is the hype around cryptocurrencies dying down around the world? The interest in blockchain currencies like Bitcoin, Ethereum or Binance seems to be subsiding - at least in some countries.

According to Statista Consumer Insights, India, Brazil, the U.S. and France are countries where the number of crypto users and owners decreased between 2023 and 2025. In India, for example, the number of those "invested" in crypto fell by 7 percentage points, from 27 percent to 20 percent, over that time span.

In other countries, however, interest in cryptocurrencies rose, if only slightly, between the years in question. Those countries included China, Germany, the United Kingdom and South Africa.
