Majority Say Trump Investigations Should Continue

57 percent of voters said in an NBC survey that investigations into former U.S. President Donald Trump should continue following the FBI raid of his Mar-a-Lago estate, where documents taken from the White House were recovered. Broken down into political groups, 92 percent of Democrats held this belief, versus 61 percent of Independents and only 21 percent of Republicans.

In the same survey, the news broadcasters found that satisfaction levels are relatively low as an overwhelming majority of respondents agreed that the country is headed in the wrong direction (74 percent). This is up 11 percentage points since the same time last year. Meanwhile, 58 percent of respondents said that the “best years” of the U.S. were behind it and 61 percent said they would carry a protest sign for a day over an issue they believe in.

U.S. voters ranked ‘threats to democracy’ as the most important issue that the country is currently facing, followed by the ‘cost of living’ and the ‘jobs and the economy.’
