Top sustainability focus areas for the travel accommodation industry

Seventy-five percent of accommodation managers indicated that protecting the environment was one of their key focus areas, according to a 2021 survey conducted in over 23 countries. The same proportion of managers cited the reduction of waste as a major priority for their business. Just over half of accommodation managers listed issues of supporting the local community, lowering emissions, and protecting local cultures among their priorities and 65 percent placed great significance on offering local services and produce.
