European Independent Hotels are Outspent by Chains Almost Two to One

In Europe, independent hotels have a majority share of the hotel market, both in terms of the number of properties and the number of rooms. However, disproportionate to their market share, independent hotels receive just a third of overall investments. Investments are mostly going into chain hotels, which have been expanding at faster speeds than independent hotels and rapidly gaining market share.
