Leading Challenges for the Japanese Accommodation Industry

Findings from the inaugural Japanese Accommodation Barometer show that energy costs and taxation are considered to be the top two challenges facing Japanese hoteliers in 2023. More than one in seven respondents reported that these issues were problems for their business respectively. Other prominent challenges are also financial, with the cost of staff, cost of inputs, and investments rounding out the top five challenges.

The Japanese Accommodation Barometer 2023 is the first study of Japanese hoteliers conducted by Statista in collaboration with Booking.com, surveying accommodation executives and managers. Click here to download a copy of your own. (Only available in Japanese)
