Where to Go for a Party
Looking for a fun vacation? Greece could be a good place to start. More than one in three respondents to a Statista survey in Greece said that they would consider partying as one of their personal hobbies. This is the highest share of respondents of the countries surveyed in 2025 and more than twice the 45-country average of 15 percent. Partying was considered a pastime across all generations, from 38 percent of Greek Gen Z to 37 percent of Millennials, 32 percent of Gen X and 22 percent of Baby Boomers. As a nation, partying was the third most popular response out of a possible 20 options, following only after traveling (43 percent) and reading (41 percent).
Brazil, home to the world-renowned carnival, came in second place with 25 percent of respondents selecting partying as a hobby. While this was a higher share than in most countries, it was only in rank 12 out of the possible 20 options nationwide, with hobbies such as traveling (47 percent), tech (47 percent), reading (40 percent) and pets (40 percent) among those more popular. However, it too saw high interest spanning across generations, ranging from 21 to 27 percent.
Rounding off the top three was France, with just over one in five (22 percent) selecting it. Gen Z selected it the most frequently (25 percent) and Baby Boomers the least (16 percent). It was the 15th most popular hobby nationwide.
By contrast, just 16 percent of adults in the United States considered partying a hobby, placing it in rank 19. There too, a clearer generational divide is apparent, with 19 percent of Gen Z and 18 percent of Millennials having selected the option, compared to 12 percent of Gen X and just 8 percent of Baby Boomers. In the U.S., cooking or baking was the most popular hobby (39 percent), followed by pets (36 percent) and video games (35 percent).
