Where does the UK rank in internet speed?

There has been much made of the supposedly poor internet speed in the United Kingdom but where does it actually rank when compared globally? According to a survey by Akamai shows that while the average connection speed in the UK is by no means the fastest, ranking below countries such as Romania, Czechia and Latvia, it is well above the global average of 5.1 Mbps.
