Segregation in the UK

England's most segregated local authorities

A study has found that British towns and cities are becoming increasingly segregated. Between 2001 and 2011, the average percentage of white British people has fallen from 86.8 percent to 79.8 percent across England. During the same period, the percentage of white British people in Slough has fallen from 58.3 percent to 34.5 percent. The study found that the rising level of segregation is due to white British families increasingly avoiding areas with ethnic minorities. Read more in the Independent.
