Electric driving on the rise in the Netherlands

The market for electric vehicles in the Netherlands is heavily dependent on fiscal stimulants. Changing tax laws in January 2017 sparked the last peak in new electric vehicle registrations. With the disappearance of the special addition tariffs for plug-in hybrids, only fully electric cars are now fiscally advantageous. This chart shows a December peak of customers wishing to make use of this special tariff before the law changed.
