UK General Election

Conservative Still in the Lead Shortly Before the General Election

The Labour Party has managed a comeback and is closing in on the Conservatives in surveys conducted in the immediate run-up to Thursday's general election in the United Kingdom. Still, the Conservatives seem to be in the lead, according to a poll by YouGov.

Whoever wins, will have to take the United Kingdom through the upcoming Brexit negotiations with the European Union. Prime Minister Theresa May seems to be the favourite to handle the delicate issue.

However, her past as Home Secretary has come to haunt her, when she oversaw the culling of police jobs. A matter which has been brought up after the recent London terror attacks.
