During a 2020 survey, internet users in the United Kingdom (UK) who had illegally accessed various media types were asked what they would do if illegal sources were no longer available to them. A quarter of illegal video game downloaders said they would be happy to pay for the same content, while only 15 percent of pirated music consumers admitted the same. A larger share of respondents were also more willing to pay for films, in comparison to TV shows.
