In the second quarter of 2023, the mining and quarrying sector in Ghana contributed around 5.8 billion Ghanaian cedis (GHS), roughly 482.2 million U.S. dollars, to the country's GDP. Compared to the preceding quarter, this increased. Within the period observed, the contribution of mining to GDP was highest in the third quarter of 2019.
