A survey from 2021 found that around 4.2 percent of adults in Canada had suicidal ideation in the past 12 months. A different survey found the prevalence of past-year suicidal ideation lower in 2019. The COVID-19 pandemic may have played a role in the increase of adults in Canada reporting suicidal ideation from 2019 to 2021.
