Get in touch with us nowTraditional industrial robots are usually heavy pieces of equipment or rigid pieces of automated gripper technology installed in factories and work environments. Due to their rigid nature, they require a safety area around them to ensure that humans do not get injured when nearby. Collaborative robots, however, are specifically designed to operate alongside humans without the need for enclosed safety zones. The market for this latter group has been growing steadily with traditional robots and accounts for about ten percent of installations worldwide in 2022. This is a far cry from the barely three percent of installations in 2017.
