For the 2023 holiday season, a significant percentage of surveyed consumers around the world (about 70 percent) said they would cut back on giving gifts to extended family and friends as a way to stretch their festive spending budget. About the same number of respondents intended to save on utility usage, for instance, decorative lighting, for the same reason.
