Japan: share of sick children missing school by treatment place

According to a survey conducted among schools in Japan in fiscal year 2022, almost half of children missing school enrolled in special needs schools were undergoing treatment in a hospital. Around 45 percent of children missing school enrolled in high school were undergoing treatment at home.
