Holidays

Where Employees Have the Most and Least Holidays

With 37 days, Riyadh has the highest average number of paid holidays of any major city, a UBS study found. This equals roughly six times the number of holidays inhabitants of Nigeria’s largest city get as an average. Surprisingly, cities in countries with a tradition of strong workers’ unions and heavy labour protection like Germany, France or the United Kingdom are not on top of the list. Rather, metropoles of countries in the Middle East such as Qatar and Saudi Arabia, which often are openly criticized for slave-like working conditions for guest workers, rank especially high.
