Tech brands trump fashion labels

Coca Cola vs. Pepsi, Nike vs. Adidas, McDonald's vs. Burger King (or Hungry Jack's) - some of the biggest brand rivalries of the last century. Nowadays though it's all about Apple vs. Samsung, or, iOS vs. Android. Backing this up, the Global Consumer Survey 2018 from Statista has revealed that 37 percent of Australian adults say they pay particular attention to brands when buying smartphones - more than for any other category, including clothing and shoes (29 percent) and bags and accessories (14 percent). Adding to tech's dominance, TV and HiFi products are in second place with 35 percent.
