Summer 2018 Brings Sweltering Temperatures

The lows were high, and the highs were higher for the summer of 2018, quantitatively justifying the overwhelming feeling that this was a particularly hot summer.

Each state on the continental United States registered sweltering record-breaking low temperatures between June and August, meaning that the average low was hotter than it ever had been in each of the 48 states. Nationwide, 2018 comes in as the third hottest summer ever, tying only with 1934 at a balmy 73.53 degrees Fahrenheit.
